Elevated Leadership Teams

A Chief of Staff Service by Genevieve Croteau

Elevated Leadership Team (noun): a team that remains clear and cohesive—even under pressure.

As COO in my most recent role…

I helped scale a company from pre-revenue to high seven figures in under five years, facing many of same the pressures your team is likely facing now.

I know how hard it is for executive teams to set clear goals, overcome operational roadblocks, stay truly aligned, and succeed together.

But when it happens, it’s brilliant.

That’s why I created Elevated Leadership Teams and offer my services as a fractional Chief of Staff and Executive Coach.

The Context

As your organization grows, so does complexity.

Tension is normal—and human stress responses are predictable.

I guide leadership teams to catch problems early, see tension as a detection signal, move from reaction to response, and resolve issues at the systems level.

The result is a continuous process of problem-solving and realignment that leads to shared success.

Less noise. More impact.

The How — In Practical Terms

  • Purpose

Detect frustrations in your organization and realign the team around purpose. Purpose is the transpersonal force that holds us together. In moments of friction, it can anchor decisions and inspire resilience.

  • Plans

Design company-wide Plans to clarify, not confuse. Teams move forward together when priorities are focused, sequenced, tracked, and measured in a public dashboard with OKRs.

  • Ownership and Accountability

Make the invisible visible. Many breakdowns stem from a lack of explicit Ownership and Accountability for business systems, processes, and documents.

  • Interdependency Mapping

When interdependencies across systems and processes aren’t clear, conflict is inevitable. Clarify and map decision rights (think RACI). This is “the how” teams work effectively in complex environments.

  • Meetings and Forums

Design meetings around a clear purpose. Skilled facilitation helps participants arrive prepared, feel included, and make good decisions.

  • Appreciation and Renewal

Appreciation is often an afterthought, but it’s our true currency. Invest in recognition, celebration, and play to replenish the team’s cup.

FAQs

What exactly is fractional leadership?

Fractional leadership is the practice of engaging a part-time strategic leader to guide key initiatives without the full-time overhead. My experience allows me to step into the capacity of a Chief of Staff, COO, or Chief People Officer—roles that share common ground in strategy, operations, and culture, while each brings its own specialized knowledge.

How do clients work with you?

We begin with a complimentary and confidential strategy session where I’ll help assess your current operational infrastructure and support you in identifying any important gaps.

If and when it makes sense, we begin a monthly retainer for a set period of time or a deliverables-based fee, depending on what best serves the work.

What makes you unique?

I build operations and culture in tandem—attending equally to the practical needs of the organization and the people doing the work. I model participatory leadership throughout the process.
